A Flower Hat Jellyfish is the subject of this representational abstract painting.  It chosen as one multiple works exhibited by Joyce Vukela-Mayer for the Bright Ideas Show in Cornelius, NC.  This show was curated by Marisa Pascucci, who selected just seven artists out of the plethora of applicants.

As a scuba diver and snorkeler, I am always in awe of the otherworldly beauty of the sea and its creatures. Bioluminescent and fluorescent sea life adds yet another level of beauty to this kingdom. “Sea Life” is an impressionist interpretation of a Flower Hat Jellyfish with its translucent bell, and short tentacles.   On a living Flower Hat Jellyfish the tips of the tentacles are fluorescent.   The depth of this painting is created through layers of paint and rust, again relying on God for the vision, the process, and the final outcome.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 was the scripture that I was led to include with this painting.   It follows a passage that reminds me that God cares for all the things that He has created, so I can count on Him, because he values people above His other creations.

This fine art print on aluminum captures the beauty in the original painting.
